AUTOBODY This work began in Winter 2021 at The Corsicana Artist and Writer’s Residency.
My aims are to collaborate with and learn from the mechanics, painters, and technicians at Chuck's Auto body, next door to the residency. I will document their restorative body work making a series of prints - a visual index of readymades that relate to my interests in structure, architecture, space and surface. Owner, Greg Price, has offered an exchange of labor to teach me shop techniques and provide access to tools. I will shadow their labor to learn about costmetic damage and body repair - gleening formal language and technical insights that will inform my studio work next door.
