Sunset Park studio, Brooklyn residency, 2021

Years of screenshots collected in folders on my desktop were re-discovered and juxtaposed: two sets of “private island” imagery (luxury private islands (for sale) and Craigslist hot tubs (for free)) were indexed, printed and distilled into diptychs, that pair a luxury island ‘mound’ with an ‘inverted island’ counterpart based on formal and spatial properties. The pairings propose not only a type of imagined sculptural union, but a political and social one as well. I adopted material cues from public signage outside my studio to explore presentation and legibility.
